Why I’m Sharing This Journey Anyway #1

I’ve been working on The WAY Game for years — first as a classroom tool, then as a way to help families connect, and now as something much bigger: building empathy, confidence, and community through storytelling and gameplay.
But here’s the truth.
You don't get much feedback when you work in education, especially after retirement. Teachers know this. Sir Ken Robinson once said, “Teachers aren’t invited to parties. No one wants to talk about education.” Maybe it’s because education reminds people that they could do something. And they’d be right.
Still, I believe that this is where the healing starts.
So, I’ve decided to document my journey—the successes, the missteps, and how I’m using AI (especially ChatGPT 4.0) to create everything from pitch letters to lesson plans. I’ll share the exact prompts I use, the responses I get, and how I edit or adapt them for thewaygame.ca.
Why?
Because the time I put in with AI leads to action. And that action leads to positive, practical outcomes.
This blog will be more than just about using AI. It will be a roadmap to a life journey worth living—a way to make new friends, try new things, and keep learning.
It’s also my way of showing that teachers don’t have to fade away after retirement. We can still teach, lead, create, and share what we’ve learned.
Even if you’ve never played the WAY Game. Even if you don’t consider yourself “tech-savvy.” I hope these posts help you see what’s possible — and maybe inspire you to start your version of something that matters.
Thanks for reading. If this speaks to you—even a little—I’d love to hear from you.
